Effective Weight Loss Management
At Blue Ridge Mental Health & Wellness, we understand that mental health and weight loss are deeply interconnected, often influencing one another in profound ways. Emotional well-being can significantly impact eating behaviors, motivation for physical activity, and overall lifestyle choices. For instance, stress, anxiety, or depression may lead to emotional eating or reduced energy for exercise, hindering weight loss efforts. Conversely, a focus on weight loss without addressing underlying mental health challenges can lead to frustration, burnout, or even disordered eating patterns.
We are now offering evaluations for semaglutide to eligible patients. To be considered for weight management, a patient would need to have a BMI of 30 or higher or a BMI of 27 or higher who also have at least one weight-related health condition, such as: type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heart disease.
How Our Evaluation Process Works
⦁ Comprehensive Assessment: Meet with our experienced healthcare provider to discuss your health goals and medical history.
⦁ We will evaluate your eligibility for semaglutide and develop a tailored treatment plan if the medication is appropriate for you.
⦁ Patients will be required to obtain baseline laboratory blood work before starting semaglutide.
⦁ We provide follow-up care and monitoring to ensure you achieve optimal results safely.
Tips for Patients Seeking insurance Coverage for brand name medications: Patients should contact their insurance provider to confirm whether semaglutide is covered and understand their specific out-of-pocket costs. Many insurers require prior authorization for coverage of semaglutide, especially for weight management. Some manufacturers will offer a savings card and patient assistance.
